Fix Debian/Ubuntu install script (#2242)

* Make the init.d file executable

...because the service won't be able to start without this.

This probably has to be added to all other if/else statements but I don't know much about those distros and can't test those cases.

* Improve code based on feedback

So we don't change the permissions twice.
